Matthias is a kind, people-loving gelding with an exceptional mind and a big heart. He has an extensive foundation in liberty and trick training and truly shines in connection-based work. He knows 24+ tricks, works willingly at liberty, and thrives on interaction—he’s very much an in-your-pocket type who loves attention and being with his person. He is not spooky, is confident in new situations, and is used to being around children. Matthias is gentle, patient, and sweet-natured, making him a joy to handle on the ground. He has had a thoughtful, low-pressure upbringing focused on trust and communication. Under saddle, Matthias is green broke. He has been lightly started but not progressed due to a previous soundness concern, not due to behavior or attitude. A couple of years ago he showed lameness related to OCD in the stifle. He has shown no signs of lameness since, but this history is the reason he has not been ridden much. Updated x-rays would be recommended for a buyer to assess his current status and determine riding expectations. Matthias would be an excellent fit for someone looking for: A liberty or trick horse A groundwork-focused partner A light riding prospect pending vet evaluation A sweet family horse to love on and enjoy from the ground up He is easy to be around, eager to please, and truly special in his personality and training. Extras: Matthias comes with a set of Scoot Boots (approx. $500 value) included in his sale. He is best suited for a home that values training, connection, and honesty about where he’s at—and will appreciate him for the wonderful horse he is.
