Dexter is a 5-year-old Friesian/Quarter Horse cross gelding standing 16 hands tall. He combines the quiet, dependable nature of a great Quarter Horse with the athletic movement and presence of a Friesian, creating a horse that's as enjoyable to ride as he is to admire.
Dexter is broke to ride and drive, and he truly takes life in stride. Ride him bareback, western, or English, hitch him single or double, or hook him to farm equipment—he approaches every job with confidence and a willing attitude. Busy streets, traffic lights, wagons, machinery, or new places don't rattle him. He simply goes wherever you point him.
Under saddle, Dexter is soft, responsive, and uncomplicated. He neck reins beautifully, moves willingly off leg pressure, lopes balanced circles, and adjusts to whatever style of riding you enjoy. Spend the afternoon jogging down the trail on a loose rein, or collect him up for English work where his Friesian side shines with expressive movement and athleticism. Dexter made his first-ever dressage and jumping show a huge success, proving just how versatile and dependable he is.

For his dressage debut, he was ridden by a 13-year-old girl and took wonderful care of his young rider, confidently earning 67.5% in Training Level Test 2 and 68% in Training Level Test 3. He gave her the confidence to go in the ring and perform two relaxed, consistent tests.
He also turned in two excellent jumping rounds, demonstrating that he's just as happy tackling fences as he is shining in the dressage arena.
