· Exceptional home is THE HIGHEST PRIORITY, new owner / home MUST HAVE PASTURE with a stall, pen and or shelter, she needs pasture time in addition to being stalled or penned.
· 15.2 HH Registered Half-Arabian mare
· Currently barefoot but front shoes have been suggested (new owner’s choice)
· No history of lameness
· Negative Coggins
· Current on vaccinations, deworming, and dental (dental care due early 2027 floated last year
· Routine farrier care done every 8 weeks
· Loads, ties, bathes, clips, and stands for the farrier but will probably show fear and some apprehension during these activities as she adjusts to her new home
· Foaled once, no issues.
· Heat cycles – rough first heat cycle in new location (just started on Mare Magic, seems to help significantly)
Luna has a previous history of not being treated well. Her owner previous to me worked very hard with Luna to adjust her feelings of not being safe. Previous owner loved her very much but sold her due to health issues and no longer being able to ride. Luna is very new to me and I’m not as advanced of a rider as she is a trained horse. She previously lived in a pasture for the past 1.5 years and just transitioned to a pen. She’s adjusting to living in smaller area, a horse pen, but the new owner really needs to have a combo of pasture for turnout and pen or shelter. Luna needs pasture time to kick up her hooves, run, play and burn off energy. She will also do best with an more advanced owner/handler. Luna is a 12-year-old registered Half-Arabian buckskin mare standing 15.2 HH. Prior to my ownership, she successfully competed on the Class A Arabian circuit. For the 10 months, she has primarily been enjoyed as a pasture, non-working, non-riding horse. She’s transitioning back to being a riding horse, getting used to, getting back into shape and a routine while rebuilding some beautiful musculature. She is very well trained (used to compete) and even though I work with her daily, she’ll still need continued refreshing. She is an energetic, very smart and forward-moving mare with a big, ground-covering walk. She can be watchy and opinionated but she is loving and affectionate. She isn’t a “push-button” beginner horse. She is a good girl that will continue to thrive and respond well with even more consistent work and riding. Luna has been exposed to dogs, livestock, quads, side-by-sides, firearms, airplanes, wind and everyday ranch activity and shows confidence at times but will lightly / minor spook at other times. She has some trailer anxiety. Her previous owner spent considerable time rebuilding her confidence, and she now loads and hauls much better than she did. She can still become anxious when hauling alone, so traveling with a companion horse has proven to be the best setup for her.
