Meet Fuego- 12 year old, registered OTTB

Fuego is essentially a Golden Retriever trapped in a horse’s body. You seriously won’t find a better personality.

I’ve owned Fuego for 3 years, and since then I’ve ridden him on trails and done basic riding around our property (walk, trot, canter and general shenanigans). He’s been ridden English, Western and bareback. While his last owner showed him as a jumper, I’ve only jumped him a few times myself (and boy, can he jump), so because of my own experience I’m mostly promoting him as a trail horse with a ton of potential. He’d even do great at an outfitter- he just loves to see and do new things! He’s got a big motor, and has speed, but he also had BIG, easy to access brakes.

Fuego is very eager to please. He’s not spooky, and is generally very curious. He puts up with me, so he definitely has a sense of humor and doesn’t get easily annoyed. He’s been ridden on the road, by motorcycles, four-wheelers, semis and large farm equipment and wasn’t bothered at all. He’s lived with cows, a spicy pony, dogs and cats, and he made friends with them all.

While he’s had kids on him, and is what I would consider very brave and bombproof, he’s also big and powerful, and needs a confident rider. He’s had some time off, so he will need some conditioning to get back to his full potential. He would benefit from some time with someone experienced enough to put in the effort. He’s not on any supplements or needing any special food or maintenance. He’s a healthy, easy keeper. He’s currently barefoot, though if you’re riding him out he would benefit from shoes.
