Taco is looking for his next barn ❤️
Taco is a 8 year-old, grade, 33-inch miniature horse gelding who is as sweet as pie.
Taco has been seen by our veterinarian and is current on his vaccinations and has a current Coggins. He is up to date on dewormings and farrier work. He has also had his sheath cleaned and teeth floated recently.
Taco does have a scar on one eye and has lost a small amount of vision in that eye due to an ulcer he had prior to us owning him. Our vet has checked it and advised that there's nothing active happening in his eye and it is not painful for him.
Being trimmed isn't his favorite thing in the world but he's not aggressive. Just needs a farrier who will not let him get away with silly antics.
He stands tied, leads, loads, and hauls. He currently stays on a dry lot during the day and comes inside at night/inclement weather. He does very well in a stall with no issues. The only reason he is kept on a dry lot is because one of our other minis has to be on one and they stay together. Prior to us owning him, I have no idea if he was kept on pasture or on a dry lot. Taco has been around both full-size horses and other miniature horses and has done well with everyone - including a pesky mini foal.
He is an extremely sweet, kindhearted little gelding who could make a fantastic little pony for some kids someday. He just needs some more time and miles on him. Taco has been handled and ridden by young children but he has primarily been used for lead-line activities while with us.
One of the best things about Taco is how patient and gentle he is with the kids. It's not hard for them to go catch him, lead him around anywhere/everywhere, and he is incredibly patient with them. He is very gentle, kind, and just an all-around sweet little guy. He is also the first one to the gate and absolutely loves attention. If you have time to give him, he will happily soak up every bit of love and attention you are willing to give him.
