Meet Truman, a magnificent 5-year-old dark bay Friesian x Percheron cross gelding standing 16.1 hands tall and weighing a solid 1,500 lbs. Truman is a true horse of a lifetime—gentle, noble, and 100% safe in every imaginable scenario, offering the perfect blend of draft-cross presence and user-friendly trainability.
Arena, English/Western & Driving Versatility: Truman rides English, Western, bareback, and drives under harness with ease. He features smooth, comfortable gaits, moves off leg pressure for lateral work, soft mouth in the bridle, balanced transitions, and navigates ground poles and small jumps. You can leave him off for a month, and he will be the exact same dependable horse every time.
Bombproof Trail & Town Safe: Fearlessly crosses logs, rivers, bridges, and handles road traffic with cars, trucks, ATVs, and dirt bikes without hesitation. He walks calmly alone or in group trail rides and is steady enough for small children to handle and ride.
Ground Manners & Care: Loves standing on crossties to be bathed, groomed, and loved on. Easy keeper, gets along wonderfully with other horses, and handles vet, farrier, and trailer loading with zero issues.
Veterinary Inspection: Backed by an official Health Report Card from Advanced Equine of the Hudson Valley (Jeremy Frederick, DVM) updated to March 27, 2026. The exam confirmed normal vitals (temp 99.0°F, HR 36, RR 12), normal gait at the walk, sound trot in-hand in straight lines and circles, and non-sensitive, long-standing cold splints that do not affect his comfort or soundness.
