on farm lease- Sly
Looking for a quiet, bombproof ride? sly is your guy!
sly is a 16.1 16yo unraced thoroughbred, and he is as mellow as they come! Sly is as unbothered as they come, making him the perfect candidate for any type of rider. wether you’re looking to build confidence or just hoping to gain experience, Sly is the best choice!
Sly has been a tried and true lesson horse for more than half his life in various programs from hunters to dressage, so has learned to not reciprocate a nervous riders intentions. he quite literally does not care what his rider is going through while on his back, making him the perfect horse to learn how to emotionally regulate on while regaining confidence.
Sly has been schooled through 2nd level, with confirmed changes, though he does not have the right fitness required to go straight back into 2nd level at this time.
He has been steadily doing the “little’s” job for the last couple of years after coming off a lease where he was neglected and lost a ton of weight and muscle mass.
Sly is one of my personal favorites in my string of horses, despite wanting to be behind the leg. He respects boundaries once established, and is quite fun when he is engaged mentally and physically in the ride. His walk and canter are his money gaits from his time in the hunter rings, as it’s the most perfect hunter eq canter that you could sit all day long, with an effortless transition from the walk.
Sly does show his thoroughbred side on trail rides so is limited to confident, experienced riders only, however, is a tried and true gentlemen in the show ring so showing opportunities are available to the right candidate!
Sly is cleared to go over small fences in moderation, however we are primarily a dressage program! jumps are not to exceed 18 inches and are only to be done in lessons only. Weekly lessons required for minors, bi-weekly for experienced adults.
our property boasts a beautiful attached indoor, outdoor, some trails and heated restrooms.
Lease starts at $600/month for 2 rides per week
